Description:
Ragweed, a native of North America, was only recently introduced into Europe (travelling in airfreight shipments from America), probably since the Second World War.
It can grow to a height of 1.5 meters and produces spiny fruit which stick to clothing.
Where they are found:
Ragweed is mainly present in North America, although it has begun to spread throughout Europe for a few years (e.g. France, Hungary ).
