Description:
Wall Pellitory is a plant which grows to a height of between 5 and 30 centimeters. Its stalk is reddish and often covered in hairs, and its leaves are dark green with coarse bristles. Its flowers are small and pale green in color.
Where they are found:
Originally confined to Mediterranean regions, wall pellitory is now widely distributed throughout Europe. It is a hardy plant which grows near old walls and rocks, and along the side of roads and paths.

Allergy:
Inhaling wall pellitory pollen can cause rhinitis, conjunctivitis and severe asthma.
To avoid exposure:
- do not go walking outside during the pollination season;
- after going out, wash your hair when you come back in to get rid of any pollen so that it does not find its way onto your pillow
- use air conditioning rather than keeping windows wide open.
