Description:

Cypress trees are shaped rather like a rocket and can reach 25 meters in height. Their pollen particles have a diameter of only 25 micrometers and are invisible to the naked eye.


Where they are found:

Mainly in the Mediterranean basin, although in recent years, the proliferation of cypress hedges has led to an increased incidence of sensitization.


Period of exposure:

from march to may


Allergy:

Inhaling cypress pollen can lead to rhinitis (hay fever) and conjunctivitis.
To avoid exposure:
- do not go walking outside during the period of exposure;
- keep windows closed (use air conditioning, if necessary);
- after going out, wash your hair when you come back in to get rid of any pollen so that it does not find its way onto your pillow.
