Description:

The common wasp is black with yellow stripes and measures between 15 and 20 millimeters in length. Like all hymenoptera, its body is divided into three parts. It has two antennae, and the female ovipositor can also be used as a stinging apparatus. Venom is injected by means of a smooth, unbarbed sting which can be withdrawn from the skin; therefore, wasps can sting several times.


Where they are found:

The common wasp builds its nest in the ground, more or less anywhere in the world although they are more common in warmer climes.
