Its use makes it possible to assess the severity of an attack when it occurs, to give objective information used to make therapeutic decisions and to verify – once treatment of the attack has been initiated – the good course of respiratory function. Used outside of situations of acute attacks, it provides objective measurements that reflect the respiratory functional status of the patient.
