Desensitisation (or allergen immunotherapy)

A way of curing allergy by administering (either by topical application under the tongue or by subcutaneous injection) increasing doses of a highly purified form of the relevant allergen until the body stops reacting to it. This is the only truly curative treatment modality for allergic disease (apart from avoidance of the allergen).

Dyspnea

Shortness of breath and general difficulty in breathing with increases in both the frequency and intensity of respiratory movements, sometimes accompanied by feelings of suffocation and anxiety.
